At any given shore-point, you’re bound to find a multitude of bicycles, and folks who ride them. While I’ve photographed the riders before, I had yet to take the time to slow down, and focus on the smaller details of their two-wheeled vessels.
Where the air carries the salinity of the ocean’s mist, rusted metal frames with beat-up wooden crates tend to be a common sight. It’s here where the imagery of a decaying tandem sparks positive memories of boardwalk pizza, beach blankets, and the warmth of the sunny days.
Below is a collection of photos from my vacation to Ocean City, New Jersey – with a focus on bike parts, signs, and scenery which has an “Americana” feel to it.
